Beef Broccoli - Helen Goo

  • 2 lbs broccoli, cleaned, and cut into bite size pieces
  • 1/2 lb beef - London broil, sliced into thin strips across the grain
  • 1/4 inch of ginger
  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water/chicken broth

Marinade for beef:

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water/chicken broth
  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped

Mix well all marinade ingredients. Add beef to marinade and set aside to marinate for 15 minutes. In a wok, heat 2 Tbsp oil. Add ginger, garlic, and salt until fragrant. Add broccoli and 1/4 cup water/chicken broth and sir fry until broccoli is a dark green and cooked through (not soggy). Remove from wok and put on serving platter. Rinse wok. In wok, heat 2 Tbsp oil. Add beef and stir fry until beef is done. Add broccoli to the beef and mix together and serve.
